How Much Inequality

There’s an interesting debate taking place on the rise of income inequality in the US. Conservative economist Alan Reynolds published an op-ed in the WSJ last week (behind a subscription wall) arguing that our measurments of inequality based on tax return data are flawed and that inequality isn’t as much as a problem as many believe. Mark Thoma doesn’t buy it, neither does Brad DeLong. Reihan Salam adds his thoughts here.
