More Cubs Fan Commiseration

Reader JP sends along this dispatch from LA:

I was on a jog the other day and ran by an old guy in a cubs jersey--they had just lost 2-1 to the Cardinals I think. Me: "Why can't we win a fucking game?" Him: "We lose again today?" Me: "Uh huh. I'm giving myself another decade?" Him: " I only got one more!"

I laughed and jogged on.

My dad said something the other day. He turns 60 next year, and he was saying he recently had the thought for the first time that he might actually not see the Cubs win a World Series in his lifetime.

But of course, hope springs eternal!
