Smart idea about how to fix the mortgage industry in the Times today.
Had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. My favorite moment was being on the 1 train with Kate a few days before Christmas when a guy with an acoustic guitar got on and started singing the John Lennon song So This Is Christmas. He ended by singing “War is over/If you want it/War is over now.” The whole car was transfixed. Something deeply, deeply moving about it, and it’s lingered with me all week.
