Wedding Industrial Complex

Since your humble blogger is currently beginning his forays into the wide and bewildering world of wedding services, this is just about my favorite phrase. I was saying to Kate and her mom the other day that I was pretty certain that if you just told caterers or flower arrangers or rental places you were just throwing a party, and not having a wedding, you’d get a lower price. I suspected that places charge a significant “wedding premium” knowing that people are disposed to spend more on their one perfect day. Now, via Ezra, I see that I was right!
