One of the best national security correspondents in the biz has two excellent pieces out, both of which should really circulate widely.

The first is a piece in last week’s Nation about how our strategy of training Iraqi troops so they can “stand up” has led us to train Iraq’s death squads

The second is in the latest issue of the Washington Monthly and it’s an article that I hope every liberal, and every Democrat in congress reads. The point is simple: ending the war is the right thing to do, but the members of the military aren’t necessarily going to like it.
