What's Wrong With This Picture ?

Wal Mart found guilty of illegally firing an employee who was attempting to organize a union. Seven years after the actual infraction, they’re ordered to pay back wages for the employee. That amounts to several thousand (you read that right) dollars.

Under the current system of penalties it is entirely rational for companies to routinely violate labor law. So they do.
