Are you in the market for a road/touring bike? Let me take a moment to recommend the Jamis Aurora, which I just purchased a few weeks ago. Kate and I went for a long bike ride yesterday and the bike is an absolute revelation. Can’t recommend it highly enough: steel frame insures a smooth ride, great parts, relatively light frame, and sleek but comfortable frame geometry.
