Thoughts From Vegas

I’m here in Vegas, trying to cover the caucuses. The travel and a bevy of events today explains my lack of blogging. My friend David Sirota once said that Vegas is a conspiracy to get you to eat Prime Rib and sure enough there’s a restaurant called “Prime Rib Loft” in my hotel. This is my second time in Vegas and for whatever reasons, the place has a strong effect on me. There’s something powerful about it, depressing at some times, sure, but also just irreducibly human and, also, American in the best and worst sense. I’ll have some more substantive thoughts tomorrow (which I’ll cross post over at The Nation). In the meantime allow me to be a proud brother and urge you all to watch this.
