Everyblock!

So Paul Smith, the genius who coded this site just launched his new, incredibly exciting and highly anticipated project, Everyblock. The idea behind the site is to provide up-to-the minute information to people about what’s happening in their neighborhood: everything from crimes committed on your block, to new businesses, to volunteer opportunities, to photos on flickr, even missed connections from Craiglist. This level of hyperlocality is totally unprecedented and has the potential to really and truly revolutionize how we get and share information about where we live. Right now, the site works for Chicago, San Francisco and New York, but they’ll be expanding soon. The site is beautifully designed and very easy to use. So check it out!
