Inequality Files: Air Travel Edition

In the wake of a series of infuriating air travel debacles, I’ve been casting about for an ideologically satisfying explanation of why flying sux, and toying with idea of writing a piece calling for airlines to be nationalized, if for no other reason than catharsis. (Not a particularly responsible use of one’s platform!)

Luckily, the Institute for Policy Studies gives me some ammunition with their new report about private jet travel. Seems private jet travel has exploded in recent years, and though private jets tax air traffic control just as much as commercial jets they pay a little less than one tenth the amount in taxes.
