Spencer Ackerman spent a few weeks talking to Obama’s inner circle of foreign policy advisers about what it would mean to end the mindset that got us into the war. The results are fascinating and encouraging. I particularly like the idea of “dignity promotion.”

My only question is why the hell they want to add 90,000 troops to the US Army, refuse to call for a ban of mercenaries, and won’t commit to a full withdrawal.
